Cross polLination

Bee Queens is more than a beekeeping program - we create change.

We do this on issues that matter to us - whether it is fundraising for a cause, petitioning to protect floral resources or attracting more women to the beekeeping industry - we actively lead by doing.

Are you looking to support the work we do in other ways? Check out our projects below to find out how you can support us!

Project Pollinator first

Why pollinators first?

We rely on pollinators to provide us with the food we eat. Many of the decisions we make in our homes, gardens, road verges and how we decide to grow food directly impacts pollinators.    In Australia, thousands of chemicals approved by the national regulator, the Australian Pesticides and Medicines Authority (APVMA) are sold in supermarkets and hardware stores that drastically shorten the lives of pollinators, impact the health of our soil and research is now indicating how some of these chemicals impact human health.  It is time we prioritse pollinators in our decisions.

Project Pollinator First started in my backyard, has spread to community backyards and has resulted in lobbying action to local councils, state government and peak bodies.

This is an ongoing project and the community is invited to participate.  The following library of resources have been created for the community.
